We need your help! Baseball Oshawa looking for volunteers

On Wednesday, Nov. 29 we are hosting our AGM. We have several positions on our board that need volunteers for the upcoming season. Come to the meeting and find out how you can lend a hand.

WANTED by BASEBALL OSHAWA!! Volunteers to join planning committee & board.

With the outstanding growth of baseball in Oshawa in the past 3 years, we now need more help on the planning side. To deliver a program that has seen Baseball Oshawa voted the EOBA Association of the Year! the past 3 years, it takes many dedicated volunteers in many roles. I know there are many of our current parents on this e-mail master list that have the skill, ideas and time to help our association get better and manage the growth. All in the goal of providing an amazing and fun experience for all players, coaches and parents.

WE NEED HELP!!

We need parents to help in the following areas!!!

1. Tournament Director - look after any topic related to the rep baseball tournaments we offer with Baseball Oshawa. This includes organizing, handling registrations, securing and scheduling diamond convenors, working with rep director on tournament schedule, onsite supervisor for each tournament, reporting results, and post tourney summary to Baseball Ontario. Someone with baseball background, understanding of schedules and tournaments. Training provided.

2. Sponsorship Committee - develop and carry out a sponsorship campaign focused on securing sponsors for our House League team jerseys (One sponsor for each team), sponsors for our tournament, and sponsors for association topics ie bats, equipment, balls, awards and more.

3. Annual Blue Jays Association trip to see a Jays game - organize, promote and deliver a great association trip to the Blue Jays for minimum 120 people (or three bus loads full. Need someone with experience and understanding of a trip of this nature.

4. Divisional Convenors for our House League - to serve as lead for an age division in our House League. Enact league rules, help with season startup coaches meeting and equipment hand out, deal with concerns that come up during the season and work with the HL Director to solve, organize and assist with play-offs and awards ceremony at diamond. Monitor schedule and make decisions on any re-scheduling due to weather etc. Look after score reporting and insure standings are up to date and accurate on website. I know we have many people that can do this role. Openings in Minor T-Ball, T-Ball, Minor Rookie Ball, Rookie Ball, Mosquito, Peewee and Bantam.

5. Tournament Diamond Convenors - to serve as a diamond convenor for scheduled diamonds during each of our Oshawa tournaments. Supervise game ops with coin flip to determine home team, ensure scoresheets and pitch count sheets are secured after each game. Some minor diamond maintenance, hand drag, raking etc. Look after game balls. Ensure teams chase down foul balls out of play and return them. Make sure games start on time. Connect with Tournament director if any issues. Watch some great baseball in a lawn chair with a cooler and snacks!!!!

6. Large Corporate sponsorship help for the 2018 Baseball Canada 15U National Championships that Baseball Oshawa is hosting in August 2018. We need some major corporate sponsors to come on board ($1000 range to $5000 range). This is goig to be an amazing event. First time that Oshawa has ever hosted a National Championship. 7. Assistant Registrar - need someone keen and who is organized to serve as assistant registrar. This role assists the Registrar in registration topics, questions about registration, managing all registered players data base on website, payment collection, compiling and managing rep rosters for approval and filing for Baseball Ontario requirements by deadlines. Assist with registration on site in person tables around the city. Eventually would be able to take on lead Registrar role if needed.
