Financial Assistance

Know a child who wants to play baseball, but family finances are tight? Please consider these fantastic organizations that make baseball accessible to all kids.
Canadian Tire's Jumpstart Program

Jumpstart

Find out more details and apply here; applications must be submitted prior to the start of baseball season.

Children aged 4-18 from families in financial need can receive funding to help with registration fees, equipment and/or transportation. Up to $300 is available per child for baseball, for eligible children.

Families must meet financial need criteria in order to qualify. Jumpstart suggests following Revenue Canada's Low Income Cut-off levels to assess if your family might qualify. A family of four living in Oshawa, for example, with a total family unit before-tax income of less than $41,481 would meet Jumpstart's requirements for funding support (2019 figures).

Their Opportunity

Find out more details and apply here; applications must be submitted prior to the start of baseball season.

Their Opportunity provides under serviced families with the means to enroll their children in local sports programs.

Children who receive sponsorship from Their Opportunity must "pay it forward" through Their Opportunity's give-back program, and have 3 months to complete some type of community service to show their appreciation.

Their Opportunity sponsors children whose family's total before-tax income is less than $45,000 per year.
