2019 General Information

Current registration numbers are outpacing 2018 by a large margin, so this should reflect in additional House League Teams.  2019 will further see an increase in REP Teams along with the three (3) Elite Teams (15U, 16U and 18U).  Oshawa will also be hosting three Tournaments along with hosting the Junior Provincial Eliminations and the 15U Ray Carter National Tournament.  A Provincial Championship Tournament may also be on the Schedule in early September.

In order to meet these demands, we are hoping for a significant increase in Umpire numbers.  If you know of anyone that is interested, please forward this email to them.  You must be a minimum age of 12 years to be considered, (2007 Birth year).

UMPIRE CLINICS for 2019

Level I / II – ALL Level I & II Umpires MUST attend a recertification course annually.  Plans are to conduct three (3) clinics hosted by the Oshawa Association.   Confirmed so far, APRIL 13 – 9 AM sharp at the Oshawa Civic Fieldhouse.  Plans are also for APRIL 27 & MAY 25, same time and location.  To register you must go on the Baseball Ontario Website, UMPIRES section and update your profile and or create a profile if this is your first year of Umpiring.  Directions are easy to follow.  www.BaseballOntario.com/Umpires

UMPIRE APPAREL / EQUIPMENT  

Apparel – to consist of Black Cap, Black Shirt (Powder Blue – optional), dark grey slacks, black turf / cross-trainer shoes (can have some white), black socks, black belt, black jacket & an Athletic Supporter

Equipment – Mask, Chest Protector, Shin Guards, Brush & Indicator

PRE-SEASON General Meeting to be conducted SUNDAY MARCH 31 at 7 pm, Bobby Orr Banquet Room at Oshawa Civic Fieldhouse. 
ALL Umpires should attend.
